Book - Bank started its activity in the year 1959 with only Rs. 900 serving only
8 students. The intention behind the activity was to support higher education in
Kutchi community, by giving text books at a nominal deposit. Started with the vision
of betterment of our KVO Community, Book bank till today has served 1,50,000 students
across KVO villages in Kanthi / Abhdasa / Wagad (52 / 42 / 24). With the first
vision met, new vision envisioned, book bank today is proud to have helped our community
students to excel in various fields like Doctors, Engineers, MBA/MMS, CA, Architecture
etc.
Connecting to today’s expectations of our students, Book Bank has been able to match
the expectations of this generation with a fully computerized system, approximately
2000+ variety of books, team of enthusiastic volunteers under the leadership of
Manish D Gala - Wadala and Hitendra T Vira - Merau(Coordinator), Jiten N Dedhia
- Bada(Convener ), Ajit H Vira - Nagalpar(Co-Convener) & Mahek M Mota - Bidada(Co-Convener).
Book Bank team works all year round to improve the process, move ahead with its
technology, to serve its students in minimum time possible with best services like
online requisition, less manual work etc.
The Book Bank is committed to expand its book collection by adding new standards
with new authors & reference books which will help our students to move ahead in
today’s fast growing and modern arena. We have introduced books for latest courses
introduced by Mumbai University such as BMS, BAF, BBI, BFM etc. Moreover we also
provide books for competitive exams like GRE, GMAT, CAT, CET etc
Being one of the Asia’s Largest Book Bank, KVOSS book bank is fully computerized
with Bar-coding system, having dedicated website through which all the activities
of book bank are carried out online (Real-time Basis). Working with the modern edge
technology, features such as Online Requisition, SMS & Email confirmations, Online
View of Student Account have added a feather in the vision of Book Bank of being
modern day tech savvy library of Kutchhi Visa Oswal Samaj.
